I am interrupting my story to complain. I am completely freaked out. Every time I go to class I am bombarded with the exact same information on how to get a job. It all seems so urgent and I'm not doing any of it. Last time I went to class I was convinced I was having a stroke because I was behind on my blood thinner and I really thought I could feel my clot dislodging and getting stuck somewhere else in my veins. Alas, I was simply having a panic attack because I'm ridiculously behind not only at Appalachian, but I'm basically behind every graphic design student ever. This is what I have to do in order to get a job:

1) I have to put together my portfolio. This sounds easy, but no one will actually tell me what it is supposed to look like.
2) I have to put together my digital portfolio. This should be a sample of my print portfolio and should in itself be designed. I have to design my design portfolio? What?
3) I have to design my stationary package. This includes, a letterhead, a business card, an enevelope, and resume.
4) I should then go on informational interviews to "network." I need to write a cover letter for any interview on my designed letterhead. Then I need to bring my portfolio that also needs to be designed along with my designed business card and resume. I also need to design a "leave behind piece." This could be anything and no one has advice as to what it should be. It can literally be anything. After the interview I need to write a thank you letter on my designed letterhead and mail it the same day I had the interview. All of this applies for actual job interviews as well.

I have no desire to do any of this.

I'm also behind in my other classes. I still need to try to get a medical reduction in course load. I still need to secure an apartment. I still need to sleep. I still need to eat. I can honestly say that I do not enjoy one aspect of my life right now. So yeah, things are pretty awesome right now.
