What Happened?

It occurred to me the other day that I am behind in the times. I remeber a few years ago I was a rarity because I don't really casually date. I would instead rather be in a "steady" relationship. Every guy I was around would say, "I'm only 20, I'm only 21, I'm only 22...I just want to be young and have fun." That made some sense to me so I kind of ignored it. I'm almost 23 now and suddenly I look around and everyone is in a serious relationship. Everyone, but me. And Will. Honestly almost every other person we know is in a committed relationship.

Changing the subject...I've heard rumors of Lebanese visitors? True? False? True/False?

A Tip About Tipping

Hopefully everybody knows that you are supposed to tip your server. Here is something to consider that I don't think many people know: your server does not get to keep the whole tip you leave. She/He has to tip people out. On a Friday or Saturday night I have to tip out security, a hostess, a food runner, and the bartender. This amount is automatically taken out of my tips at the end of the night. Some places you would also have to tip out a bus boy. I made over $150 last night in tips but left with $103. I sold almost $800 in food and beverages. I did not have good tippers.

My So-Called Life

Work
Well let's see here. Our paychecks at work have been bouncing for the second week in a row. There is much speculation that we could close any day now. The owner is too much of a douche-bag to let any of us know what is going on now. One reason I love that job is because I have so much fun there. This is not fun. I'm constantly tense and anxious.

School
Not much to say here. I pretty much suck at it. I suck and I don't really care.

Living
I am supposed to be moving in three days. I haven't packed anything. I do have two weeks to move though since my landlord is making me pay for the full month. I have made my double rent for this month and now just need $500 for May 1st. Without knowing if I'll have a job from day to day this is a little unsettling.

"Friends"
My best friends from work have planned a trip to the beach. They are leaving May 23rd. The day before my birthday. When I said something the reply was, "Well you said you hardly ever go out for your birthday anyway. I mean you can come with us." This is a trip for three couples. Yeah right. The thing is I hardly ever go out because my friends always flake on me. I thought that with these people it might be different. Apparently not.

Boys
The boy I was seeing is a very strange person. I thought he was just an airhead, but he seems to have trouble grasping most things that go on around him. I tried to break up with him last week. He was drunk and apparently doesn't remember. Either that or he thinks I don't remember. Perplexing. I hung out with Will last night and we had a little heart to heart. Or heart to stone or whatever actually pumps blood through his body. It didn't go well in my opinion.

So that's me. This is my life. Don't be jealous.

Update

So some things are working out. I have found an apartment. It pretty much looks like a trailer on the outside, but it's cute inside. No paneling which is nice. It has a washer, dryer and dishwasher. A huge kitchen and lots of cabinets for storage. Also nice. The downsides are that it is available immediately so I had to go ahead and reserve it and will be moving in the 15th. Also, it is above a dealership that sells four wheelers so my windows face hwy 421. Whatever. I think it will work out okay. Now I just have to pay rent for two apartments basically. $500 security deposit for that aparment, $475 for my current apartment, $250 on the 15th for rent for that apartment, and $500 for rent for that apartment on 5/1. Plus deposits for power and whatnot. Geez.

Also, I went on a date actually the past two nights. The guy is really sweet and shy. He wears Lacoste like it's a damn Hanes t-shirt. He said his mom is a respresentative. Um, hello size Med/6 right here. Downsides are we work together so I'm getting made fun of like nobody else while he's getting high fives, and he graduates in May. :(

Still struggling in school, but with my Photography project out the way I feel a little better. And with the kind of life developments I've had lately I guess I can't complain too much.

I am interrupting my story to complain. I am completely freaked out. Every time I go to class I am bombarded with the exact same information on how to get a job. It all seems so urgent and I'm not doing any of it. Last time I went to class I was convinced I was having a stroke because I was behind on my blood thinner and I really thought I could feel my clot dislodging and getting stuck somewhere else in my veins. Alas, I was simply having a panic attack because I'm ridiculously behind not only at Appalachian, but I'm basically behind every graphic design student ever. This is what I have to do in order to get a job:

1) I have to put together my portfolio. This sounds easy, but no one will actually tell me what it is supposed to look like.
2) I have to put together my digital portfolio. This should be a sample of my print portfolio and should in itself be designed. I have to design my design portfolio? What?
3) I have to design my stationary package. This includes, a letterhead, a business card, an enevelope, and resume.
4) I should then go on informational interviews to "network." I need to write a cover letter for any interview on my designed letterhead. Then I need to bring my portfolio that also needs to be designed along with my designed business card and resume. I also need to design a "leave behind piece." This could be anything and no one has advice as to what it should be. It can literally be anything. After the interview I need to write a thank you letter on my designed letterhead and mail it the same day I had the interview. All of this applies for actual job interviews as well.

I have no desire to do any of this.

I'm also behind in my other classes. I still need to try to get a medical reduction in course load. I still need to secure an apartment. I still need to sleep. I still need to eat. I can honestly say that I do not enjoy one aspect of my life right now. So yeah, things are pretty awesome right now.

God's Way of Making Things Up to Me

Sparks. It's Red Bull meets malt liquor. Think about it.
